KEYNOTE : Roc Nation President Jay Brown and Epic MD Nick Raphael for keynote

Roc Nation President and co-founder Jay Brown has been announced as the first confirmed keynote speaker for In The City 2010. The legendary rap figurehead, best known for his work with Jay-Z, will appear in conversation with Nick Raphael, Managing Director of Epic Records. Brown and Raphael are two of the most respected major label heads, and with Brown’s Roc Nation forming part of a $150 million deal between Jay Z and Live Nation, they represent the most lucrative of music business strategy.
Jay Brown’s innovative vision of an entirely in-house business model is proof of his groundbreaking approach to the industry, reshaping the original Motown attitude to fit modern needs. Raphael meanwhile has proven himself a keen purveyor of emerging talent signing and breaking numerous acts including the international superstar Jay-Z in 1996. Raphael has continued to launch the careers of many household names, having had huge success with JLS, Scouting For Girls, Paloma Faith and many more.
This keynote looks to be a lively and inspiring meeting of minds, discussing the rich and varied management histories of both speakers and their mindsets in a rapidly changing business climate.
